Maureen Cohee, Registered Yoga Teacher. MSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

 

As a Yoga Teacher and Mental Health Clinician, Maureen bridges Eastern philosophy with Western psychology to create a trauma-sensitive, safe-holding environment for healing. The theoretical underpinnings of Maureen's approach are rooted in Raja Yoga, Attachment Theory, Trauma Theory, and Neuroscience.

 

Maureen studied at Yandara Institute, Baja Mexico; Satchidananda Ashram, South India; Integral Yoga, Buckingham, Virginia; Yoga on Main, Manyunk, Pennsylvania; Kripalu Yoga, Stockbridge, Massachusettes, and Sivandanda Ashram, Bahamas.

 

Maureen acknowledges her many yoga teachers along the path including, Shane Perkins, Craig Perkins, Shiva Das (Jim McCabe), Amy Weintraub, David Emerson, Seane Corn, Russil Paul, Bessel van der Kolk, and Nalanie Chellaram.  

Maureen is especially grateful for her master yoga teacher, H.H. Sri Swami Satchidananda and his Spiritual Master, Sri Swami Sivananda.
